There are several different types of incisions he can make depending on the type of implant you receive; the inframammary incision runs along the lower breast crease, while the periareolar and transaxillary approaches involve placing the implants through incisions placed around the nipple or via the armpit.

Dr. Everett may position the implant behind the chest muscle (submuscular placement), or in front of it (subglandular placement) depending on your aesthetic goals and underlying anatomy. If you receive a saline implant, he will fill it with the solution after placing it into the breast pocket. Silicone implants often come prefilled with a silicone gel.

Recovery
